Curriculum
Our interdisciplinary approach to education enables us to provide hands-on learning that is reinforced by the inspiration and vitality of nature. We see the results of integrating art and environmental education alongside core subjects to strengthen skills, memory, and meaning. Here are other outcomes you might expect: creativity, communication, critical thinking, independence, confidence, and resilience.

We believe in educating the whole child, catering to each student’s academic, physical and emotional development. We recognize that each child reaches certain milestones in their own time. As such, our emergent curriculum features lessons that are presented to students when they are ready, preparing them for the future and laying a foundation for life-long learning.

Practical Life
Practical life activities help young learners to navigate the physical and social world they are entering. Activities include learning the social norms of a group, planning work, and managing short-term projects. Work of the hand, focusing on art and function, is embedded throughout all activities.

Mathematics
The focus in mathematics is on mathematical concepts, number theory, and computation. We use manipulative materials that engage the intellect and provide tactile learning.

Language
Language is integrated into all areas of the curriculum. It is primarily focused on literature, reading fluency, writing, and oral expression.

Environmental
Education and Core Sciences
Our learners explore their environment through a scientific approach – with hands-on demonstrations and experiments. They develop skills in independence and collaborative learning while building a meaningful connection with the natural world. This carries forward to a rich and balanced immersion in the other sciences.
